About

Who are we?

We’re a broad collective of students and staff at King’s College London taking a critical approach to the use of Artificial Intelligence within the university and higher education in general.

We are not formally affiliated with the university in any way.

Are you anti-AI?

As a broad group we welcome various voices, some are overtly anti-AI, others more open to its potentials but our unifying focus is a deeply critical perspective on how AI is being utilised in our university. With the current atmosphere being one of relentless AI hype we aim to represent a counter-balance.

What do you do?

We welcome any project ideas that align with our goals but currently we’re working on both an AI experience reporting system for educators – a way to highlight where AI has had a potentially detrimental effect on either their work or the learning experience of students – and an info sheet to help both staff and students at KCL understand the realities of AI rather than just the hype.

As well as those initial efforts we’re also open to collaborating on research, undertaking new student and/or staff led projects and cross-institutional efforts with other universities.

How can I get involved?

If you’re interested in getting involved with Reclaiming Futures you can subscribe to our newsletter or e-mail us if you’re interesting in a specific ongoing project or want to suggest a new one of your own.

Currently, while we welcome involvement from staff and students at other universities, we’re only looking to undertake new projects at KCL.
